- The Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation is led by a diverse and committed volunteer Board of Directors who give of their time and resources to help support our vision of a healthy, resilient Lake Simcoe and it’s surrounding land that will enrich our lives for generations to come. Our mission is to raise funds for the environmental and educational initiatives of Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority that lessen the impact of climate change and inspire action.

2025-2026 Board of Directors
Brad Rogers,
President
President, Groundswell Urban Planners
Brad has decades of consulting Engineering and Planning experience in Ontario and is currently President at Groundswell Urban Planners in Richmond Hill. Brad holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) as a Registered Professional Planner (RPP). Brad has always lived and worked in the Lake Simcoe watershed and is passionate about taking care of it. Brad has served previously on the Foundation Board from 2011-2017, as President and Past President. Brad has served on the Foundation Board of Directors since 2022.
Geoff Dawe,
Vice President
Community Volunteer
Geoff was Mayor of the Town of Aurora from 2010 to 2018. During this time, he was also a member of York Regional Council and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority Board of Directors, which he chaired for four years. He was a member of the Southlake Health Centre Board of Directors, including the Audit, Governance, IT and Quality Committees. Since leaving Public Office he has been a Director with the Aurora Historical Society, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, and Sport Aurora. In 2024, he finished his term with the Southlake Foundation Board, and is delighted to have been accepted as a member of the Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation Board. Prior to entering politics, he was President and CEO of Quality Integrators Corporation, providing quality management solutions to Fortune 100 corporations. He has been an active volunteer in his community for over 40 years, and in 2012 was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of his volunteer and public service.
Clarence Lui, Secretary Treasurer
Counsel, Zarek, Taylor, Grossman, Hanrahan LLP
Clarence has practiced law for the last 19 years and has served on many local committees. Through his professional and personal experiences, he has developed a keen interest in environmental preservation and protection. Living locally in the Lake Simcoe watershed, Clarence is a frequent user of our trail systems and see’s first hand the impact of the work of the Foundation and the Authority. Clarence has been serving on the LSCF Board of Directors since 2021.
Matthew Allen
Global Managing Director, Assurance & Sustainability, NSF International
Matthew Allen brings his experience as a Professional Environmental Engineer and global Executive, having served in the Sustainability, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Professional Services fields for 25 years. Matthew has a Bachelors and Masters of Chemical & Environmental Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and has served as a Naval Officer. Matthew has spoken and published internationally on various scientific and sustainability topics. Matthew is an active national professional development instructor and bilingual in French. Matthew was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada and currently lives and works from home near Belwood, Ontario. He is an active outdoorsman, nature and animal lover, hobby farmer, husband and father to 3 active teenagers. Matthew has been a Board member since 2023.
Joanne Barnett
Vice President, Planning and Development, The Kerbel Group Inc, Andrin Homes Ltd.
Joanne is a Registered Professional Planner and Executive who has generously supported the Foundation for decades. A dedicated community volunteer, Joanne has served as the Co-Chair of the Connect Campaign to build the new Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek since 2019 and is serving on the Foundation Board to advocate for more community awareness of the impact of our work and ultimately generate more support, so that our watershed can be healthier and more resilient. Joanne has been a Board member since 2023.
Debby Beatty
Lake Simcoe Philanthropist
Debby is a fifth generation cottager who is passionate about the health of Lake Simcoe. Her other past volunteer endeavours are board member of the Lake Simcoe Coalition, Toronto Community Foundation and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. She is presently Chair of the Helen McCrea Peacock Foundation. In 2013, Debby was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition for her lifelong dedication to environmental projects to protect Lake Simcoe and its watershed. Debby has served on the LSCF Board of Directors since 2002 as Director, Vice President and President.
Marvin Geist
Lawyer
Marvin has been practicing law since 1975. With offices in the City of Vaughan and the Town of Innisfil his expertise is in corporate/commercial and real estate law. Marvin is a multi-generational resident of Lake Simcoe and has enjoyed it immensely since childhood. He has been President of the Lake Simcoe Rate Payers Association and a former Director on the Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association. He has served previously on the LSCF Board as Director, Vice President, President and Past President. In 2023, Marvin Chairman of the Science Committee under the Lake Simcoe Protection Act. Marvin has previously served on the LSCF Board as Director, Vice President, President and Past President.

Geoff Masotti
Director, GTA East; Manager, Bradford Office, C.F. Crozier & Associates
Director of GTA East and Manager of the Crozier Bradford Office location, Geoff is responsible for overall business and delivery performance, and providing leadership in business development and community relations. With almost 20 years in the industry, Geoff has extensive knowledge and experience in Community Master Planning, Stormwater Management, servicing capacity studies, and Infrastructure Management and Design. Geoff is passionate about the Foundation’s mission, believing that the health and prosperity of the watershed is of paramount importance for the long-term sustainability of our environment.
Vimal Patel
Vice President, Land Development, Geranium
Vimal holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). He began his career at a leading consulting engineering firm, before transitioning into land development with Geranium, where he oversees the successful implementation of complex projects. Over his tenure, he has played a key role in several of the company’s most significant projects, including the approval and implementation phases of the landmark Friday Harbour development on Lake Simcoe where he developed his deep passion for integrating environmental stewardship into land development by bringing all sides of the table together to achieve shared goals. Vimal is passionate about working together to bring community support to our vision of a healthier Lake Simcoe Watershed.
Clare Riepma
Councillor, City of Barrie
LSRCA Chair and LSCF Representative
Clare is president at Riepma Consultants Incorporated, as well as Councillor, Ward 1, for the City of Barrie. As a husband, father, grandfather, business owner, urban planner, engineer, mediator and councillor, Clare brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
Sheila Stewart
Realtor, Main Street Realty, Newmarket
An experienced sales representative with a demonstrated history of working in the real estate industry, Sheila is skilled in negotiation, waterfront property, pre-construction, and resale. Sheila has been an active member of the York Region community for over 25 years and is very passionate about protecting our natural elements throughout the region.
