Tree Memorial Program

Planting a tree is one of the most meaningful ways to express sympathy. While flowers will fade, the thought of a young tree being planted for someone will last a lifetime.

Our Tree Memorial Program makes a meaningful contribution to our local community by:

  • Demonstrating an environmental commitment to the community
  • Appreciating those families they have been privileged to serve
  • Remembering those who have passed away in the previous year
  • Ensuring the continued growth and enhancement of our most precious resources in the Lake Simcoe watershed

The Tree Memorial Program, which commenced in 2010, allows participating funeral homes the opportunity to make a donation directly to the Foundation. The donation then supports LSRCA restoration projects and assists in planting thousands of trees per year to help improve air and water quality and wildlife habitat for the future.

“We are extremely happy to announce our partnership with the Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation. One of the fundamental policies of our family-run business is a strong commitment to the environment with a special focus on the Lake Simcoe watershed. We believe that responsible businesses have an obligation to support the community in which we live and work. Planting trees is a meaningful and respectful way to both honour and celebrate the life of a loved one. We look forward to this exciting opportunity which will both offer comfort to the families we serve and at the same time contribute to local reforestation efforts.”

– Wes Playter, manager and Co-owner at Roadhouse and Rose.

The Tree Memorial Program is still available in some watershed communities.
