LSCF Thanks RBC for Supporting Outdoor Education

COVID-19 has revealed just how important time spent outside is for our mental and physical well-being. Time in nature also inspires kids to help take care of it.

RBC Partners with LSCF to Launch New Tech for Nature Initiative

LSCF and LSRCA are thrilled to partner with the RBC Foundation through their Tech for Nature funding program. Through their support, children and adults can explore the outdoors for engaging, inspiring and outstanding educational experiences designed for the new digital world.

Thanks to RBC’s generous support, LSRCA’s amazing outdoor education team now offers their innovative training and resources online for educators looking to take student learning outdoors. Tech tools like iPads help Forest School children learn about fish species at Scanlon Creek and secondary students used the Seek app by iNaturalist to identify tree species in their own neighbourhoods.

In addition, LSRCA now proudly offers virtual programming and interactive digital resources to families so they can learn about animals in their community and get outside exploring.

” I am so grateful for the support that RBC has provided through the Tech for Nature grant. It has enabled our team to continue to develop and deliver engaging education programs which serve to connect our students with their natural environment. It is this critical connection that ultimately leads to action towards a sustainable future for all “, says Nicole Hamley, LSRCA Education Manager.

Thank You RBC Foundation!
