September 21, 2016 – Thanks to funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and other funders, work is now underway to complete upgrades to the last 11 KM of the 32 KM Beaver River Trail.

The existing trail is a former decommissioned rail system and is being lengthened and improved to connect the communities of Uxbridge, Blackwater, Sunderland and Cannington in the Township of Brock, Durham Region. The new smooth surface and low/moderate grade will provide an accessible trail to allow multi- uses including recreational cycling (non-motorized) and walking by individuals, groups and clubs. More people will be able to get active outside and enjoy the health benefits of nature all year.

This project is being executed in partnership with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and the Township of Brock with additional funding by the Ontario Municipal Cycling Infrastructure Program.
