Accreditation Process Strengthens Charities and Nonprofits
Wednesday, October 31, 2018: Congratulations!
Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation (LSCF) now joins 24 other Canadian Charitable organizations that have most recently earned accreditation through the Imagine Canada Standards Program – investing in trust and building excellence through common standards of practice.
Twenty organizations were successfully reaccredited while five earned their accreditation for the first time, bringing the growing number of accredited organizations to 242. There are approximately 170,000 charities and non-profits in Canada. 85,000 of these are registered charities.
LSCF first earned accreditation in 2013, and fully re-earned it this year.
“It’s no small feat for an organization to earn Standards Program accreditation. It’s a rigorous, peer-reviewed process that is meant to build Canadians’ trust and confidence in the charitable sector,” says Bruce MacDonald, president and CEO of Imagine Canada. “The organizations accredited to date reflect a broad spectrum in size, scope and geography. Each one takes governance, accountability, and transparency very seriously. We’re proud to have them on board.”
LSCF Board and staff are passionate about our vision of a cleaner and healthier Lake Simcoe watershed that will inspire, motivate and enrich us all. We worked hard to achieve our accreditation because we want our donors to know they are investing in a strong charitable organization that delivers. Invest in Trust!
