The Great Trail is Officially Connected Across Canada!
Come celebrate our 20km local link on the coast-to-coast-to-coast Trans Canada Trail at the Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area. There’s no better way to spend a summer Saturday morning!
Enjoy the Beaver River Wetland through expert eyes. On Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 8:45 to 10:30 am. pick your activity of choice:
Take a short paddle through the meandering river with LSRCA’s nature guru Bill Thompson. He’ll showcase what’s in the wetland and explain its critical role in keeping us safe. Bring your own boat + safety equipment to participate.
No gear? No problem – take a short hike with us instead! Expert guides from Nature Conservancy of Canada, the North Durham Field Naturalists or LSRCA will show us how to identify and marvel at the living creatures and plants that surround us along Canada’s “Great Trail”.
Afterwards, stop for some light refreshments at the new pavilion. One of 200 free events on the world’s longest recreational trail!
Reserve your spot today, registration is required.
All activities start and end at the kiosk on the trail near Blackwater Rd. This is located east of highway 7/12, between Regional Road 13 and Concession 4, in Blackwater.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
